Historical Atlas

Twelve students in History 283 "Mapping the Memorable" used sources in the Archives to begin creating an atlas that will depict many aspects of the College's cultural and environmental history. Under the supervision of professor Robert Schwartz - and with the support of many other Mount Holyoke faculty and staff, as well as a number of alumnae - the students explored the history of dining halls on campus, the College's long commitment to community service, student traditions such as the annual May Day celebration and the "Freshman Frolic," and other topics.
