Turf and Track Complex
Mount Holyoke College unveiled its new $5.9 million outdoor track and field facility in the fall of 2007. The complex features a synthetic multipurpose turf field with lights surrounded by an eight-lane track with a nine-lane straightaway. Though it is used mainly by the field hockey, lacrosse and soccer teams, the synthetic turf field serves a variety of purposes. With the new facility in place, the College was able to host a track and field event for the first time since 1996 in the spring of 2008.
Lights were added to an existing grass playing field and another field was renovated to accommodate rugby. With the expanded and improved outdoor facilities, the College looks forward to hosting NCAA and NEWMAC competitions in the near future.
