WORKSHOPS FOR ALL STUDENTS: ella: Thursday, Sept 11 at 4:00, Dwight 201 You can use ella to access course materials, but do you know how to use ella store files, create a personalized profile, organize notes, and customize your course display? Come learn how to take advantage of everything ella has to offer.
Science Research at Mount Holyoke: An Introduction: Wednesday Sept 24 at 4:00, Dwight 201 This session will introduce you to resources you will need to do work in the sciences at Mount Holyoke College. We will begin by discussing how scientific information is disseminated, and there will be hands-on practice at finding background information, secondary literature, and primary literature on scientific topics. We will use Web of Science, a great place to begin for research in all of the sciences.
Library Research at Mount Holyoke: An Introduction Thursday, Sept 25 at 4:30, Library 418 Learn how to find books, films, and course print reserves using the Five College Library Catalog. Find out how to uncover articles using one of Mt. Holyoke’s research databases, and how to find the full text of an article online or in the library’s print collection.
MHC Technology Tools: Friday, Sept 26 at 4:00, Dwight 201 Learn how to access and use many of the online services Mount Holyoke offers. Become familiar with your network space, webmail, resetting passwords and your email and network quota. Understand printing in campus labs, and where to go online and in person to get help with computing and library questions.
Bibliography Creation and Reference Organization with REFWORKS: Wednesday, October 1 at 4:00, Dwight 201 Tired of spending hours looking up how to format bibliography entries? Have a hard time keeping all your references for big research projects organized? Refworks could be your answer! Refworks is an online tool that allows you to keep all your references organized, accessible, and best of all, it can automatically create bibliographies in almost any citation style. Come learn how to import references from websites, databases, and the library catalog, then quickly and easily create formatted bibliographies with this great tool.

Locations: Sessions meet in Dwight 201 or Library 418. Please feel free to ask at any of the library services desks (Circulation, Reference, Technology Help Desk) for directions . Dwight 201: From the intersection of the MEWS and Dwight Hall near the Digicenter and LITS Administrative offices, go up the large wooden staircase. Turn right at the top of the stairs. Library 418: From the main library entrance go across the courtyard and up the stairs to the reference room. Turn left, 418 is the second classroom on the left.
