The New Five College Library Catalog System...

The Five College libraries have just implemented a new integrated library system which includes a new library catalog.  This new system will improve access to the millions of resources at the Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith College Libraries and the University of Massachusetts/Amherst Libraries.  The software is provided by Ex Libris, a highly regarded vendor of library technology (Harvard and Yale have each recently implemented Ex Libris library systems).  The catalog is available through the LITS home page, in the "Quick Links" on every page, and also on the "Find Books" page.

Some of the new features include:

• New look to the online catalog
• Integration of Four Colleges and Umass records in one database
• Email notifications of new arrivals in your area of interest
• Ability to save personal searches and borrowing history
