Guides to Course Selection
Congratulations for being accepted at Mount Holyoke, and on your smart decision to join our diverse community of learners. No matter what path you've taken to get here, you will be joining a dynamic group of women who are poised to work hard, to play hard, to learn, and to grow.
These guides to choosing courses (see list to right) will help you think about your academic plans in the context of your specific situation, whether you are just starting college as a first-year, or here as a new French teaching associate. I hope you will look through them carefully as you start to draft your program for your first semester. It's important to think of this program of study as a first draft of a final program. Soon after you arrive you will be meeting with your academic adviser, and it is very usual, even expected, that students’ plans change—sometimes dramatically—in light of these conversations. But do be sure to get this draft in—to register online—by July 7.
I'm sure you are excited to begin your new adventure and that you will have many questions. This site connects to a wealth of resources to help you, to answer your questions, and to steer you to the right people if you want to talk with a person. We welcome your email and your phone calls. Note especially the Frequently Asked Questions and Contacts links if you have questions, concerns, even suggestions.
I'm excited to be thinking about your beginning at Mount Holyoke, and I look forward to seeing you this winter.
Best wishes,
Lee Bowie Dean of the College
