Anemone x
hybrida 'Honorine Jobert'
Honorine Jobert Japanese Anemone
Fall does not necessarily signal the end of color in the garden.
There are many wonderful fall blooming perennials and Anemone
x hybrida 'Honorine Jobert' is one of the best. This Japanese
Anemone has been in gardens since the mid-nineteenth century and
continues to be one of the most popular Japanese Anemones with good
reason.

The pure white blossoms encircle
a ring of yellow stamens.

Honorine
Jobert Japanese Anemone
lives up to it's reputation as floriferous.
Once established, this anemone is particularly floriferous and
clumps will not need dividing for some years. When division is necessary
or desirable, the plant should be lifted and divided in the spring.
Propagation can also be done by root cuttings.

Anemone
x hybrida
'Honorine Jobert'

Anemone
x hybrida
'Honorine Jobert'
displays flowers on long, graceful stems.
Crystalline white sepals surround yellow stamens on stems 3-4'
tall, although it is not unusual for topmost flowers to bloom 5'
or more above ground level. Hardy at least to the warmer area of
zone 5, Anemone x hybrida 'Honorine Jobert' is generally
slow to establish in the garden, but don't give up, the end result
is well worth a little patience.

Established
clumps of Honorine Jobert
Japanese Anemone growing in the
Chapel (Bullard) Garden.
Honorine Jobert Japanese Anemone will grow best in well-drained
soil amended with organic matter. Partial shade is preferred, but
I have seen plants growing in Western Massachusetts in siturations
from full sun to almost full shade with good results. The Chapel
(Bullard) Garden has established plants of Anemone x hybrida
'Honorine Jobert'.
