Mentors

Each participant is paired with a Mount Holyoke College student who has been trained as a Take the Lead mentor by MHC’s Weissman Center for Leadership and the Liberal Arts. She will be your personal coach and consultant. You’ll stay with your mentor in her dorm and she’ll help you plan your action project. After the weekend, your mentor will stay in touch to hear about your progress.

“My mentor really helped me to think about ways to execute my action project. It was inspiring to work with someone who shares the desire to achieve goals that sometimes seem unattainable.”
—Lindsay Mecca, Take the Lead participant

Becoming a mentor for the Take the Lead program allows Mount Holyoke College student leaders to connect with future student leaders.

“Truth be told, at the end of three days of extensive leadership workshops, development of action projects, mentorship of one another, bonding activities, and spontaneously intimate testimonies of one another’s backgrounds, dreams, and fears, I did feel as if I could leap into the world and make it my own. I not only felt empowered, I felt powerful.”
—Brianna Armbruster, Take the Lead mentor
